The Women

The Woman
---------------------

This world is, because of the woman
this universe is, because of the woman
nothing exists without the woman
our existence is, because of the woman.

Why being a woman
then
should be humiliation ?
Why a woman
then
should face indignation ?
Always, the woman becomes the prey... ?
Always, the woman has no say.....?
The woman is a mother, also a mother–in-law
the woman is a sister ,also a sister-in-law
the woman has many roles to play
a daughter-in-law perfects that night & day.

In the woman, power is manifest,
yet she is unaware and that is a jest.
She becomes Durga when in rage
making a statement, she is no sage.

Existence of the woman defines the awakening
crematoriums everywhere, her absence creating
indebted to her for bringing us to light
yet for survival, she has to fight.

Take a bow men, she is supreme
without her, life can never be a dream.

A Good tribute to 'the woman' on the International Women's Day. Indeed she is the creator, sustainer and the destroyer. She has the power in herself. Present slogan of 'Women Empowerment' as such has no meaning at all. But, one should also remember that Ramayana and Mahabharath are both because of her. But, without her nothing is complete in the living beings !

ALL KIND AND COMPASSIONATE BEINGS ARE ALWAYS FRAGILE, WEAK AND SOFT AND DELICATE AND ALL THINGS OF BEAUTY ARE ALWAYS BEING ATTRACTED TO DISTRACTION AND TO THEIR DESTRUCTION OR PRESERVATION DEPENDING UPON THE POSSESSIVE NATURE OF THE TAKER..................WOMEN IS DEFEATED BECAUSE OF HER LOVELY AND KIND EMOTIONS, BECAUSE OF HER SOFT NATURE...................COMPARED TO INDIAN WOMEN FOREIGN WOMEN ARE U C MORE STRONG AND STERN, SINCE THEY HAVE CONTROL OVER THEIR SOFT EMOTIONS AND THEIR ATTITUDE TOWARDS BODY IS DIFFERENT ...............WE ALWAYS THINK US AS SHADOWS OF MEN.............IN ONE WAY OR OTHER....................SLAVISHNESS IS DEEP ROOTED IN EVEN THE SONGS OF TODAY.............THE FILMS ALL SLAVISH......................OUR CHARACTER HAS TO BE MODIFIED.............WE ARE ATTACHING TOO MUCH IMPORTANCE TO SILLY DRESS MATERIALS AND OUR APPARENT BEAUTIES THAT OUR BRAINS ARE SILLY STUFF MADE...................WE SHOULD LEARN A LOT OF LIFE CHARACTER AND LIFE COURAGE FROM EVEN THE ORDINARY.........(I BEG YOUR PARDON) FOREIGN WOMEN.............................THEY DONT SHY OR FEEL SELF CONSCIOUS LIKE US FOR EVERY LITTLE THING..................WE ARE LIKE HERDS DRIVEN BY A STICK..........................................JUST TO MATCH THE SOCIETY'S MAIN GO...........................................

  18. Tribhawan Kaul I can not but agree with you Ms. Lalitha Iyer, however I feel Indian women is coming of age. She is now more assertive, more awakened, more participative and more courageous. Change is there to see and observe in every sphere of life whereever there is presence of a woman and this change will remian a continuing process. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Comment: Why then a woman does
    torture another woman?
    Why does a ma-in-law
    torches a daughter in-law?
Why does a woman destroy another’s world?
Why does jealousy overcomes a sister-in-law?
    - - - - - - - -A nice poem exposing the maladies of our social system. Everyday we read news about torture of daughter-in laws by mother-in-laws in India. Sometimes it is vice versa.Unless mother-in-law gets the support of son and her husband she may not dare to do so.Such news of torture of women depress me like anything.

Comment: Thank you Bharati. It is so nice of you to have visited my poem and leave an insightful comment. Yes, I agree, in every case Ma-in- law can not be blamed. Happy reading and writing.
