Tribhawan Kaul : A poet of jocund isle,

Are you sad? In search
of intimate everywhere?
There
is magic in the air.
Of course! Poet
Tribhwan Kaul creates such a majestic range of poetic beauty that a reader is
overwhelmed and forgets all about his worries and anxieties and does nothing
but burst into smiles on the awkwardness of contemporary social standard of
living.
His poems ' Wife Vs
Mistress', 'Jai Ho Poets', 'A True Lover' and many more reflect his cheerful
status of mind and great satiric strength that a reader sinks down the pleasure
of magical poetic influence and restore the content to face the challenge of
life afresh.
Tribhwan Kaul
reminds me of Joseph Addition, a famous periodical essayist of 18'th
century. Like Addition, he targets the
awkwardness of contemporary social trends in such a light mood that the readers
could not only approve of, but admit the facts very gladly.
Humor is not the
ultimate goal of his poetry, neither he creates such atmosphere but it is
constituted automatically with the sane of true lyrics and the livelihood
instinct of the poet that is all time pervaded on his energetic personality.
The notice of the poet
is beyond appreciation. Not only social but domestic and even literary
tendencies could never escape from his notice. In the poem "Wife Vs
Mistress", our poet focuses upon male's fantasy of romance and females
unwillingness. Lovely and amusingly he helps the poesy slide to find the conclusion
as:
"Better
half showed unwilling distress,
Shot down
proposal to become my mistress."
His notice never
permits the literary happenings escape easily. Targeting the poets of several
social sites and blog post dotcoms, our poet creates an injury free rhetoric
irony that though he condemns them but they take it as their rhapsody:
"All this at different
platforms,
Jai ho, dear poets at dotcoms."
(Jai Ho..Poets)
In the search of love,
our poet proves himself a true Desi guy, almost hopeless in the flowing era of
communicational revolution where love is merely a phrase to express. But
because of his everlasting amusing instinct, our poet puts forth his perception
as:
"I love you./ I love you too.
Says
every Mr. A, B and C
to
every Ms. E. F. and G."
(A True Lover)
Absolute simplicity,
effortless lyricism, magnificent sanity, livelihood optimism ,beauteous
imagination and extreme social concerns are the attractive features of
Tribhawan Kaul's poetry. Pleasure is the ultimate goal of poetry and his poetry
not only confirms it but stands a paragon.
Sensibility :
"With
sadness or mirth, A poem takes
birth."
Satire is not the
overall recognition of Poet Tribhawan Kaul but it is only one third part of his
poet. The above quoted line of his "Birth of a poem" reflects his
idea how a true poem exists. And in the poems entitled "Wait of a
soldier's wife", "Tamasha:The show", "Hospital",
"Lamenter" and in many others, his sensible approach, his
compassionate observations and moreover his affection and creative sympathy for
sorrow stricken peep out. If our poet makes you smile, will make you cry too.
The poem "Wait of
a soldier's wife" approves the above said stanza and its literary
significance very profoundly. This poem is one of the best poems of this
collection because of its genuine origin. The poet draws a picture of a lady in
a hut on the hill top. Almost as a story, the poem itself carries you away to
her flashback to show her soldier husband biding Goodbye. See the depth of our
poet's sensitivity:
" Her
red shot eyes pretend to be sober,
Tears roll down and wail
when she feels the shadow of her
beloved, sail "
In more than one
hundred and fifty poems of this collection, the diverse shades and aspects of
human life are beautifully revealed. The sensible approach of the poet is at
different level, somewhere sentimental and somewhere neutral. Simple language
and lyrical structure help a reader to connect himself with the texture of
poem.
Nowadays, heavy
philosophical thoughts have overpowered the poetic zeal that a reader gets
nothing to soothe. Instead, he finds himself fallen in the web of thoughtful
gloom. In this period of stress, poetry is magnifying sorrow and so struggling
for its significance. Meanwhile, Tribhwan Kaul is fanning the hope with his
soothing texture.
"Poems are like Nursery
rhymes,
Music on lips Simple and sublime."
With this poetic
manifesto, "Refreshing Writes" of Tribhawan Kaul brings forth a new taste of poetry that is
extreme human in texture and appealing in its structure. A complete collection
to cherish to our bosom. My best wishes
to the poet and publisher.

A book review

Many books will come and go,
The real refresher will remain to glow.
The above said couplet is response my poet-heart reflects at first while reading the book .
Poet Tribhawan Kaul is well-known to us but what is surprising, is to find him as a short story writer.
Magnificent writer he is in this concern . His short stories are the aboveboard reflexions of his virtual experience of life .
His autobiographical style is in free flow and his diction makes it interesting to read whole in one breathe.
Published by Authors Press, New Delhi, the book can be categorized in must read category.
Thank you very much .

Jai Krishna Ji : :) :) :) I know. We, poets/writers have to be alive to changes occurring in our society day in and day out. IVF, surrogate mothers, renting of wombs, semen/sperm banks etc. are slowly & steadily taking roots. The story is one of its offshoots. Thanks for your lovely observation . I love that. Happy reading. :) :) :)
